It is my personal belief that there is a vocation for every person born into this world. As a Frat man, How then do we know our purpose in Life? We were programmed, before birth, with multitudinous choice to be free to develop our inborn talents. Man does not need answers from somewhere beyond himself. We can make our own decisions. We can subdue nature and explore reality. No matter what vocation calls you, decide that you will Be the One!, a As a member of Alpha Phi Omega, Our purpose is to be a Leader, to be a Friend and to be of Service.
As children we reserve our love exclusively for ourselves. As we grow older we share our love with father and mother, brother, sister and those in our family circle, for these are the only real people we know. As we mature we develop a surplus of love to share with others and when fully matured we commit our love without guarantee, we give ourselves completely and know that our love will produce Love in others. As we love others so we find our real self.
Man cannot live by and for himself alone. There are no self made men. It is his stepping stone to giving service to others. It is serving the purpose of bringing more brothers back into the family. We have been working with wonderful people, and we have had real opportunity to be of SERVICE. where you feel you are giving the best service of which you are capable to do the community. We are all committed to Being the One to carry the torch of our legacy including our strong points and our challenges. They’re recruiting fine young men and women of Alpha Phi Omega. They’re serving as mentors and role models to their peers and their communities.
We are all unique in that each of us has his own unique complex combination of aptitudes and interests, skills and abilities but we all have many things in common because we are all brothers and sisters and We are all organs of one another. I am a part of you just as you are a part of me. I can esteem myself and you, and Love myself and you.
A call to action for each of us. Be the One to bring at least one outstanding young man and woman into our beloved Alpha Phi Omega. ” Search for
quality young men and women on our campus and make them your friend. Then make them our brod/sis. Are you leaving a legacy whereby brods and sis can point to you and say, ‘He’s the one or She’s the one?” You are the reason that person is an APO much like the One Who Inspired Us – Frank Reed Horton. Be a Leader rather than a boss. Suggest or request rather than command. Be the One!
We have a committed membership and active programs in Leadership, Friendship and Service to be proud of. There is no other Fraternity/Sorority like Alpha Phi Omega. The future looks promising, and with the continued efforts of everyone, I believe we will continue to build upon our success.
