What is an APO ID? What does this small plastic and its numbers symbolizes? Do i need an APO ID to be a true APO? Is the pledgeship/initiation not enough for me to be a true APO? What is the advantages of having an APO ID? These are some questions that crossed my mind while thinking, why some brothers/sisters do not want to secure an APO ID.
APO ID and its number symbolizes our official membership in Alpha Phi Omega. One of our indoctrination as neophytes is “I will pay my dues”. As such, it is our duty, as members of this organization, to secure an APO ID. As the saying goes, ” Madaling maging APO, mahirap magpaka-APO”…thus, secu ring an APO ID and renewing it, is one of the requirements of “Pagpapaka-APO”.
Speaking of advantages, if you have an APO ID, you can participate officially as a delegate in official functions of APO. You will be included in the official roster of the National fraternity. I am thinking of those brothers who died without an APO ID. Soon they will be forgotten and their memories will be no more. But if you have an APO ID, even your great great great grand children and generations to come can see your name in the National Roster, and will be proud to say:
“My ancestor like me is an APO.”
