In response to calls for assistance, Cong. Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III initiated the creation of a task force dubbed as APO-Disaster Response Team or APO-DRT, to assist our APO brothers and sisters in areas affected by the recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake that devastated Bohol and some parts of Cebu, and in some parts of Nueva Ecija and Aurora ravaged by typhoon Santi. However, at the moment, the priority area is Bohol.
Headed by Atty. Rico Lainez, APO-DRT is tasked to carry out relief operations and to serve the immediate needs of our brothers and sisters in these earthquake/calamity stricken areas. Other members of APO-DRT are Sis Celia Valdez, Bro. Mike Hernandez representing the Office of the Vice-President, Sis Gigi Clave, Bro. Willie Gutierrez, Bro. Rey Montano and PP Jimmy de Castro.
To enable us to further carry out our assigned tasks, and to reach the greatest number of affected brothers and sister to deliver full support, we have planned a program to raise funds for these purposes. Bro. Willie Gutierrez chairs the fund raising activity. An initial amount of P20,000.00 from Cong. Bello has already been sent to Bohol. Another P20,000.00 was raised during the initial meeting of APO-DRT held on October 18, 2010. Coordination and identification of focal persons in the calamity stricken areas has begun for proper and efficient disbursement of funds.
We are now appealing to your kind hearts for monetary contributions to be distributed among our brothers and sisters in the affected areas.
You may send your donations to the following account:
BDO JP Rizal Reposo Branch
C/A Np. 417 801 7528
Account Name: Enrico Lainez, Hilda Sacay Clave, Michael Alan Hernandez
Kindly send to us a copy of the deposit slip for proper accounting. An update of the list of donors and disbursements shall be posted in the APO official e-group and other APO FB accounts for everyone’s information.
We thank you in advance for your generosity and rest assured that your contributions will be disbursed properly to all the intended beneficiaries.
APO CARES, APO SHARES.
